Project Updates

Well its another Wednesday so its time for a SAL update.  I didn't get to much done but at least I have a little something to show this week.  I spent the morning taking down my snowmen displays and putting up my Valentine stuff.  I love all the pink stuff I have.

I've been busy with other projects and even managed to get the frame done for my Little Blackwork owl.  I found the frame at a discount store for around $3.00.  It wasn't the color I wanted but it was round so I knew I could do something with it.  Here is what it looked like before, all I had done at this point was fill in the nail holes and gaps between the colors with a wood filler.

This is what I ened up with after sanding it, painting the edges brown and attaching scrapbook paper to it.

I have also been busy working on something for my new nephew who is due the beginning of March.  My SIL doesn't read my blog or even know I have one so its safe for me to post the project, LOL.  This is from the Lizzie*Kate leaflet- its a boy thing.  I plan to put a simple black frame around it.

And last but not least I have been working on my Birds and Teacups project.  I really like the colors on this one even and I am happy thats its finally starting to look like something.

Hope everyone has a great week and happy stitching.

SAL Update and a little more.

I feel like I made good progress on the SAL I am doing with Cat and Crystal.  Hopefully I can keep motivated to work on it.

Last night I was able to put the finishing touches on a few projects as well.  Earlier in the month I finished stitching these but was waiting on the buttons I ordered to come in so now they are finally finished.  This is the January, February and March part of the Mini Celebrations set from The Stitching Parlor and this finishes off the series for me.

I decided to finish the January part of  the Oakhaven SAL into a picture to set on a small easel.  If I decide to make it into an ornament at a later date it will be easy to add a loop to the top of it.

Happy stitching everyone!!

Mystery Stitch

I am sure some of you are wondering what my secret project is that I am working on.  I have decided to post updates from time to time with sneek peeks and let you try to figure it out.  I will provide 4 clues and I may even have a prize for the person who figures it out first.

You already know that it is a bird from a previous post but what you do not know is that the pattern has a copyright of 1982.  Good luck!!

SAL Update

I finally have some good progress to show.  I have decided to dedicate 1 or 2 nights a week to the project so I still have time to work on other projects as well.

My stitch list grows longer all the time with all the new patterns that I have ordered and also discovering items to add to my long wish list.  While laying in bed last night I remembered an old pattern that I got in the late 90's that I have decided to stitch finally, but I am not going to tell you what it is yet.  I will post progress pictures of it as I go and I am sure you will get a laugh out of it when its completed.  And in case you are wondering yes its another bird pattern, LOL.

Look whoos been stitching.

I am really enjoying my layed back stitch time this year and so glad I did not join in the Crazy stitch challenge that a few of my friends are doing.  I like seeing everyone projects that they are working on but there is no way that I could keep up with all of it.

I have managed to get a few projects finished and wanted to share them with you.  I decided to join in the SAL with the OakHaven group and have completed the first part.  I plan to make it into an ornament.

My other finish is Little Blackwork Owl from X-Calibre designs.  This was a really fun stitch and I hope to find a round frame to put it in.

I have a few other small finishes but I have not got all the buttons for them yet so I will post them once I get the buttons.  I updated some of the projects that I would like to work on this year and you will notice that there are many bird related projects on the list.  For some reason birds just seem to appeal to me right now.  I recently started the Bird and Teacups kit and so far I am liking it.  I hope to post progress on it later in the week.

Happy stitching.

SAL Update

I finally have some progress to post on the SAL that I am doing with Cat and Crystal.  I didn't get to work on it much over the crazy holidays but some progress is better than nothing.

Christmas was good, I managed to get several gift cards for the local needlework shop so that should keep me going in fabric and floss for a while.  I also got 6 bottles of my favorite lotion, Vanilla Bean Noel, from Bath and Body Works that is only availble around Christmas so I no longer have to hoard it and can use it when ever I want.

I plan to update my blog over the next few days.  I will update the items I want to stitch this year and who knows what else I will do.  Until then Happy Stitching!!
