Little Progress

Its been a crazy couple of days.  I had my in-laws in town for a few day for my sons 6th birthday so I have not had any stitching time.  On Sunday we woke up to 6 inches of new snow, its melting fast but we are going to be getting more snow this weekend so hopefully I will be able to get some stitching time in the next few days.  I am still working on my crochet squares and only have 2 or 3 rows left to go on the second block and then I am done.  I really hope to finish them tonight.

Here is the very little progress that I got done on my Christmas SAL.

Before my company arrived I did finish up a project for my new little nephew who was born yesterday afternoon.  They have named him Ryker and he is a real cutie.  These are 2 tag blankets that I made for him.  They are made from fleece and the ribbons have 3 rows of stitching to keep them in place.  The dark side is a really soft fleece with raised dots to give it a fun texture.  I still need to make two footie blankets for him which I also hope to get done this weekend, boy am I going to be busy but then thats nothing new.

Happy Stitching everyone!!

SAL Update

Wish I could say that my stitching mojo has come back but it hasn't. I even managed to take a small break and do a different craft. Last week I went to the monthly craft night at the church and they were teaching how to crochet simple blocks. Since I already knew the basic crochet stitches I took my cross stitch with me instead and just sat and visited with the other lady's. They then decided that they would take the block that they made and make it in to an afghan for a lady in church that has poor circulation in her legs and had been using beach towels to keep her legs warm. The project is called "a patchwork of love" and I decided that I could donate two blocks to the project. So in a nut shell, after 10 years of not crocheting I picked up a hook and set to work and I am proud of the results and I think my Grandma would be too. I am surprised that I remembered what my Grandma and Mom have taught me. I still have about 1/2 of one block to finish but that will not take me long to do. By the way if your thinking the two blocks to not go together color wise, don't worry none of the other blocks do either, this is going to be one colorful afghan.

By the way I have plans to continue crocheting, I found a free pattern to make washable covers for the swifter sweepers and with spring coming and having 7 pets that will be shedding I think will need a few.

Ok so yes I did manage to get a little done on the Christmas SAL that I am doing with Cat and Crystal.  Not as much as I would have liked but not bad for the 2 days I have been working on it.

I am not sure how much I will be able to stitch the next coming days as I have family coming in town and its my sons birthday this weekend and I am in full cleaning mood.  Hopefully I will find time to stitch at least a little.

Lots of progress...not

I seem to be in a stitching slump with everything going on in my life at the moment.  I did manage to get a little done on my Christmas SAL project but not as much as I would have liked.  Hopefully I can find some motivation to work on it for next weeks update.

I did start a new project hoping it would jump start me to stitch on other projects and it kind of worked but not really even if I have been enjoying stitching on it.  The pattern is by The Ships Manor and can currently be found at the Stitcher's Village website as a freebie.  Its a book mark that says Wonder and is inspired by Alice in Wonderland which is one of my favorite books and movies for that matter.

Hope everyone managed to get some stitching time in this week.

Sorry everyone I do not have an update to post on my SAL today but I did stitch on it a little last week so I did make progress on it.  I am feeling a bit under the weather today and think I may have caught my sons cold, so I am going back to bed.
